Your Gen returns on Tuesday

Yes, Series 3 of Talkin’ Bout Your Generation starts on Tuesday 8th, with special guests Kevin Harrington, Julia Zemiro and Leisel Jones joining BB, Gen X and Gen Y respectively.

Make sure you wind your time keeping devices to 7:30pm – and it’s a 70 minute special, so don’t go automatically changing channel’s after 1 hour!

Literary adventures with Shaun

Shaun is certainly keeping busy in the writing circles. For one, Shaun’s book, Smithereens, is being re-released on Monday!

His contribution to the Australian literature anthology, “The Basics of Life” has been confirmed. The editor of AusLit, Steve Rossiter, has supplied some advanced information on Shaun’s story, titled “The Moment”: it is serious, not comedy, but apparently, it is very good. The anthology book will be published in the second half of February – available for $5 from Amazon for use with the Kindle or Kindle compatible devices (PC/Android/iPad etc)

And as part of the “Writers at the Convent” festival in Abbotsford, Melbourne, Shaun is being interviewed by William McInnes, the actor who he “competed” against on Seachange for the love of Sigrid Thornton’s character. It is being held on Sunday 13th February at 2pm – more information at www.writersattheconvent.com

Your Generation returns for 2011

Ten’s programming department have confirmed that Tuesday, February 8th is the return date for Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation. This is the 3rd year of TAYG (as Shaun pronounces it) and the premiere episode is a special 70 minute length. Woot!

Once again, the call has gone out from the TAYG Facebook page for donated trophies, so we can expect that to return this year. And despite some misplaced rumours, Josh is returning for Gen Y – Shaun joked about him leaving in the final show, but as Josh tweeted it was a joke. Yesterday he tweeted that the first episode had just finished taping – and it was exciting and insane.

The anticipation… (in the meantime, we have repeats of Season 2…)

Shaun to be part of charity Anthology

The Australian Literature Review is compiling a anthology of short-stories, each between 1500-4000 words, on the subjects of Africa and/or human behaviour common throughout the world. A number of writers are on board, including Shaun himself!

The book will be released as an eBook on the Kindle platform in the first few months of 2011. All of the proceeds are being donated to charity: half to improve literacy in developing countries and half to help Australians in their writing endeavours.

No word on what Shaun’s story will be about, but we wait with great interest. Read more about the project or AusLit’s interview with Shaun about Preincarnate.

Shaun wins an AFI

Last night (Friday), Shaun won an AFI Award for Outstanding Achievement in Television Screen Craft. Not bad for a completely talent less berk! 🙂

The Australian Film Industry awards is split into the Industry Awards and the Awards Ceremony (which is televised). At the Industry Awards (held on Friday), the AFI gives a few ‘honorary’ awards out at their discretion. And this year, Shaun was deemed worthy of the award for Television.

Well done, Shaun!

Vote 1 for Shaun!

Voting has opened for the 2011 Logie Awards – Australia’s closest thing to an Emmy.

To vote, you’ll need to choose your favourites in a number of categories (including best new ‘talent’) – but the important thing is you can vote for Shaun as Most Popular Presenter and Most Popular TV Personality – ie. the Gold! You can also cast a vote for TAYG.

You’ll also need to supply your details to validate your vote – but it is well worth it…. for Shaun… 🙂

(PS. You have till February to cast your vote.)
